What happens when you cross Rampart?
For many people, the French Quarter is the starting point. But just beyond it, one block off Esplanade Avenue, the city opens into one of New Orleans' most layered historic neighborhoods.
Long known by many as Back of Town, this area holds stories of music, architecture, church, culture, free people of color, neighborhood life, and the making of New Orleans as we know it.
