About the event
The time has come, dear Alice said, to talk of many things: of colored glass and crooked stairs, of shutters, lace and wings. So come through the looking glass.
We’ll have tea with booze, little sandwiches, sweets, and a few things marked EAT ME and DRINK ME, all inside a little kaleidoscope of colored glass, old wood, lace and light.
At 6:30, Uncle Craig takes us Behind the Shutters for a history and architecture tour of the home and the immediate neighborhood.
Craig Ernst, founder of Historic Homes NOLA and my former Friends of the Cabildo mentor, will walk us through the architecture, the glass, the details, the changes over time, and the history just outside Alice’s front door.
The first 30 guests will receive a special gift.
Bring good walking shoes and a sense of wonder.
